Really enjoyed our stay. Very clean and modern everywhere in the hotel and rooms. Breakfast was great quality and value for money. Staff extremely friendly. Location is a little further out of the old town that we would have liked but there is a metro station very near and the walk is only 30 mins. To use the spa is extra, but all the info was very clear when we booked. I would recommend and stay again.

The hotel is clean and functional, within a 15 minute walk of the old town. The area around the hotel is quite run down, there’s a metro stop about mins walk away. Rooms are small but the en suites are good. Gym and spa are not part of the hotel but in a separate part of the basement, hotel guests must pay extra to use them each time they visit.

Nice rooms and clean. The restaurant and the breakfast was a disaster. All the table were a mess every morning and only 1 staff working. The dinner wasn´t that good either. Small portion of entrecote and the salad was old pieces of lettuce.

A little out of town and on a relatively steep hill. However, there is a metro station only 200m away which gives easy access to the city. Next to a main road and so there was regular road noise at night. The pool was shut. Staff were efficient and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. A large sitting area on the ground floor to enjoy a drink from the bar.

The hotel itself is quite nice and staff are very friendly. The city itself is very hilly and as the hotel is outside of the centre just be aware of the uphill walk home. Breakfast was only ok, I expected more for the price so in hindsight wish I had booked without breakfast and eaten elsewhere. Outdoor pool is a great size for a city hotel, but I didn’t use the spa as it was far too busy as it’s a public gym not a hotel spa.

Everything has hidden fees, the pool, gym, parking, etc. There is an extra for everything and anything ! The site says they speak english and french, they do not speak French and hardly speak English. All the hidden fees start a 20 euros and more ! The rooms are very pricy and are very small. Never again will I go to Occidental Bilbao…
