Aside from being a Hilton, it’s also the official WW2 Museum hotel, and filled with military photos, etc. The museum is directly across the street and with your ticket you can go in and out all day. Easy access to French Qtr, about a mile walk, nice restaurants, love the room, good TV selections, internet access, clean, nice shower, reading room off the elevator, if you’re so inclined. You’ll love the museum itself, but plan for at least a full day, perhaps 2. Well done and well worth it! So much of which to be proud as an American and it’s on display there.
Again, French Qtr is not far, and there’s plenty to eat. If you’re a people watcher, you’re fascinated. There are boat rides nearby, and the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience just up the street.
I had not planned to see anything but the museum, I was not disappointed other than I had no idea how big it was and how much time was needed to fully enjoy it all. But a I’ll be back to do more of it and spend more time than a single day there and enjoy some of the other delights of Crescent City.
