Wingate at beachfront
Wingate is located at the Galveston beach front and beach is easily accessibe and the property is very close to the Pier. Hotel room was clean and suited for the family stay. There is an additional parking fee which I did not notice at the time of booking.

Hotel was dirty. Mold in toilet, mold around bathtub and moldy shower curtain. Floors were sticky. Whites were not white. Pool was green and had garbage floating in it. You cant get coffee until they open up for breakfast. Horrible 3 day stay.

Hotel check in was fine. Got charged $15 to park in the parking lot so I was not happy about that. Breakfast is just the literal basics so don’t depend upon it to get anything but a waffle. The beds were comfy and room was decent but I would not recommend except to sleep for one night, not a long term stay.

The building is in poor shape. No elevator - and we were on the third floor hauling our luggage up. Not impressed. The shower curtain was moldy. Breakfast was ridiculous. The area was a mess, with most of the food gone, and the staff unable / unsure how to stock things like waffle batter, coffee, milk.
