The room we had was actually pretty nice. I have read some mixed reviews but my 14 and 10 year old daughters and I found it fine for our 1 night stay in Taupo. It's further out from the town area but we had a car so wasn't too worried. The area itself did look a bit old and reception area run down but it was cheap and the shower was warm, bathroom clean, room itself was warm enough and beds fine. Would stay again if I had to.

The place is a bit run down, but the room was ok and bed was comfortable. However, we were expecting an actual stovetop when it said kitchenette. Guy at check in was friendly and pool had good temperature. A couple of pool chairs would have been a nice addition.

Honestly, when i arrived the first impressions were: "Have I been scammed? Is this place still open?" I couldnt see anyone around and the buildings looked pretty run down. However, I did receive a very warm welcome and the room was very clean and well put together. The place is dated. However, it is comfortable and fine if you dont need to walk anywhere for anything.
