I decided to do a staycation this weekend after being referred to The Bethesdan by a few friends. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and appreciated that everything was within close walking distance (restaurants, bars, shopping, and public parking lots). Tip: Park in the public lot instead of paying the $40 onsite rate. The front desk staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and the bartender was friendly as well; great happy hour specials! I can't wait to go back. I highly recommend it.
