"The location was fantastic! The establishment has been restored amazingly. Check in was easy, once the code worked for our door. No elevators and we were on the third floor, so we brought up only what we needed for the night. It was clean, quiet and our bed was comfortable. Location is great, walkable to the boardwalk and restaurants. "

We had to open the windows and turn the a/c on for a few hours before the smell was actually bearable to stay in the room. This is not good when you are allergic to scents!! We would definitely stay again, but would ask to view the room beforehand to make sure there was no strong smell of cleaners."

The owner is a very friendly & nice guy, it looked to us like he is in the process of renovating the property and is doing a good job.
The thing that is letting it down is the breakfast , it was of poor quality and the breakfast room isn't very welcoming.
This has all the makings of a great place once a few things are tweaked."

"Very happy with this find, that we booked a 2nd night. The only thing we found was that golf for non Cape Breton residents was expensive. I think that if you are staying at the hotel, golf should be the same rate as residents. Otherwise, it is a wonderful location to lay our heads from our travels as well as a good spot to call home base for a couple days. "

The location is awesome, the time in the hammocks was sublime, and it's not too far from the beach (~35 min by car), which was great for paddleboarding, swimming, etc. A couple guests (including us) did not get the room/suite they reserved on Expedia, so I'd advise guests to confirm your room with the owner directly once you've booked. In our case it worked out fine, as we got one of the adorable cottages and it was awesome; the owners were super helpful and lovely. Having a firepit was awesome - like camping but better! We loved the hot tub and all the different lounging spot options. A great spot to unwind and relax by the sea. I hope we can be back!
My only note is that the chemical/floral cleaning smell when we first checked in was so strong, it gave both me and my daughter a headache. It was gone by the second day, but I'd suggest notifying the owner in advance (which I failed to do) if you have a scent sensitivity."
