"The Palazzo Doglio is a very elegant hotel situated within a modern plaza complex. This grand building has been renovated to a very high standard including at least four restaurants all offering Al fresco dining. It was a little haven to return to after a hot day of sightseeing around Cagliari. The staff were really friendly, readily providing information about the city and beautiful beaches of Sardinia. The rooms were clean, quiet and the balconies running round the hotel were a great space to relax and watch the bustle of the plaza from. "

"Check in was pleasant and easy- Paula was lovely to deal with. We stayed in the superior apartment, it was very spacious, very clean and the beds were very comfy. It was well equipped with kitchen items, tea and coffee facilities, two tellies (the living room one is MASSIVE and had netflix, prime and youtube apps- very handy for watching if your Italian isn’t the best), plus plenty of towels. Wifi worked perfectly the whole time and was very fast. We did have to buy toilet paper and bin bags as these didn’t seem to be included, but that wasn’t a big deal as there is a lovely little supermarket just down the road. Any questions and queries we had were answered promptly and politely by whatsapp. The location is brilliant- on a very busy, touristy street with loads of great restaurants and lively bars. The downside of this is that it was very loud almost all night and we had some trouble sleeping. Definitely a great spot if you are looking for fun nights out and not boring old fuddy duddies like us ;) Very close walking distance to the train station, several bus stops and lots of gorgeous historical landmarks. "

"Excellent room that was cleaned daily by extremely friendly staff. Location perfect for many a night sampling the local cuisine, and transport to Poetto Beach made easy. Breakfast options beyond belief, everything you'd want and all presented and served with passion. Lovely times. Thank you Regina Margherita."

"We booked from 17 th July to 27th .Many comments here did not do the hotel justice. They criticised the hotel for being outdated whilst this is the theme of the hotel(70’s), it reminds you of beautiful memories. The location is great, you have underground free parking, most hotels in Europe now charge you a daily rate of €14 euros per night. The staff are amazing, from the reception , great lady who did our room, the staff at breakfast, always have a smile, the breakfast is great especially the coffee. Always 2 cappuccinos first then 2 espresso’s. The restaurant is also great. Great holiday, if I do come back to Sardinia, I will book at this hotel without hesitation. Grazie mille. Tarik"

"Very friendly, welcoming staff. Lobby was spacious with lots of seating for guests while waiting for cocktails from the bar or while waiting to be seated to eat a meal in the on-site restaurant. The amenities were ample and easily accessible to the guests. The property was close to the airport, but in a noisy, dirty, unsafe industrial area. It was not conducive for walking into town or anywhere else. Perhaps a free or very affordable hotel shuttle service for hotel guests to and from the airport would help? 😎"

"We stayed for 4 nights. Everyone was very friendly at the hotel, it was clean and comfortable. Lovely location with picturesque views over the ocean. Suggestions: the rooms don’t have coffee facilities, so we bought a travel kettle and our own coffee etc. "

The hotel is up to date, beautiful spacious room, and is on a quiet street, but walking distance to the canal in Navigli area where all the restaurants and terraces are. Highly recommend!"

"The Best Hotel Residence Italia is a great option if you're planning on visiting Cagliari and Quartu Sant Elena, or even for a stop over before moving on to other places in sout east Sardinia. It's super close to the Poetto beach, you can either walk there (15 minutes) and see the beatiful flamingos in the lagoon or take a bus (bus stop across the street) and get there in less than 3 minutes. The hotel is modern and clean. Our room was spacious and spotless as well as super quiet. There are many didining options within walking distance, and the breakfast buffet was great! The staff was super friendly and helpful. We'll definitely come back :) "

"Needed a night in Cagliari before taking the Grimaldi Lines ferry to Naples and blindly, with no reviews though a huge fan of DH Lawrence novels/poetry, booked this hotel and glad did. Super close to all area attractions, beautiful large hotel room, and a highlight of a rooftop bar with city & port views. Highly recommended and grazia melle for it all. "

"Most amazing stay in central Cagliari! Upgraded to a room with a terrace, tons of space including kitchen, lounge, 2 bathroom and bedroom. Rooftop is a beautiful space for all guests and wonderful easy breakfast. Hosts were also very kind and helpful (WhatsApp texts, restaurant recs). I wish I stayed longer than 1 night! The interior felt like a proper beach home "

"The apartment we stayed in was upstairs with a balcony. It was spotlessly clean and well appointed. Everything needed for our stay. Balcony area needed more comfortable furniture in general- when I asked for sun loungers, they were brought up straight away. Parking on site is excellent and very secure. No fault of the apartment owners but we did have a very noisy family next to us who let their children run around the car park and gardens until 10pm each night - not great when you want to relax on the balcony! The bed was very hard and quite uncomfortable for us. A car is an absolute essential. The apartments are in a residential area with a beach at the end of the road and a supermarket at the other end . Very handy. There are one or two restaurants that you can walk to but it is a very busy road. The marina is a short drive with a restaurant/cafe and it’s lovely. They are building a pool on the plot of land next door so there was some daytime noise (we stayed June 2025). A great holiday, very enjoyable. "
