While there’s no on-site parking (common in Matera), the hotel directed us to a nearby lot and arranged transport—Antonio, our driver, was fantastic. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, answering all our questions and even making dinner reservations for us. The location is very central, perfect for exploring the Sassi. We were pleasantly surprised with a free room upgrade—absolutely stunning and well equipped. Highly recommend this hotel!"

"Wonderful room in a cave. Simple, but beautiful, and made you feel part of the history. Location was right off the main strip near the Santa Maria Church. Breakfast was varied and good. Many restaurants to choose from. Staff was attentive and helpful. Price was a bit high, but worth it. Nice stay."

"The total experience was excellent. We were in Room 12 and the view was worth every penny. The staff were very nice and helpful. The coffee and breakfast in the morning were excellent. You must stay here!"

"We absolutely loved the hotel. The staff was very very very helpful and friendly. The property and the pool are beautiful. I only have 2 suggestions though. Maybe a mirror by the front entrance. It is hard to see cars coming when you are trying to get out. The other suggestion is for the nights you have parties on the property. I personally didn't have a problem with the large huge music that played all night until 2 am. But I can see others being upset with how loud and how late the loud music played especially if they were maybe having to wake up at 5 am to catch a flight or something. I think maybe in the future you let your guests know about the loud music party and hand out ear plugs. But one again I want to say that the staff was so amazing and helpful, especially the 2 men that were at the front desk. Also a special thanks to the restaurant staff. My mother is vegan and sometimes this is a challenge while traveling. Even though they did not have vegan options on the menu, the chef went out of his way to prepare several vegan dishes for her. They were wonderful and we appreciate this so much. Thank you all for everything tha you do "

"Beautiful family run agriturismo. Clean and spacious room, spotless bathroom, Breakfast was 1st class however a hot option ie omelette would only improve it. Only problem advertisement on expedia stated pool after a 15 min walk around the extensive gardens etc no pool was to be found !"

"Truly fantastic boutique hotel! Such an amazing find! Highly recommended. Parking is free and easy to find. The hotel picks you up and takes you into the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. On the day of our departure we needed to leave very early and they had a full breakfast ready for us and gave us a ride back to our car with no problem at all. The location at the edge of the cliff is absolutely stunning and the views are unparalleled. The rooms themselves are unique and very well appointed. The bathroom in our room needs to be repainted and the loft where the kids slept got very hot. But other than that we can't find a single fault with this lovely spot in a beautiful city! "

"A very special place - both the accommodations and the main reception and dining areas. Worth the money for a once-in-a-lifetime cave experience. The staff was lovely and really elevated a great stay to exceptional. Antonio, the manager, was brimming with enthusiasm for his city and the hotel, sharing history of both. He recommended the fantastic Osteria al Casale restaurant on the cliffside for dinner which served excellent food and was nicely away from the hordes. Maristella is as sweet as she is adorable. So helpful and gracious. The included breakfast was ample and there was quite a variety, from savory options to pastries. The dining room is stunning. Loved it! We stayed in the family apartment which exceeded expectations. The main room is spacious even with sofa bed opened. There is a separate sitting area with another sofa and coffee table which was very useful. The sofa bed was comfortable and big enough for two teens to fit comfortably. The master bedroom was roomy and the bed super comfortable. It was only missing a full length mirror. Adding a barn door on the master bedroom to provide privacy from kids staying in the main area would be a bonus. There is also a kitchenette with refrigerator in the apartment. The bathroom is modern and functional. The shower is small so I shared with the manager that a shelf is needed to hold shampoo/soap. This is really the only critique on an otherwise magical place. Highly recommend. "

"Location was so unique overlooking the Sassi . Nighttime was magical. We arrived early and Davide welcomed us; nothing was too much trouble! He arranged for us to have a coffee and custard brioche as we had missed breakfast that morning due to an early start. We could not have arrived on a better day as it was a special Festa and we were invited to see the fireworks from the balcony at 1am - front row seats!! "This property is beautiful and peaceful. You definitely need a car to access it as it not a walkable area. With a rental car it’s great. The food was good, pool was cool but nice (pretty deep, so maybe hard with little kids). Gym was tiny (just for one person at a time) but well stocked. Overall I recommend for a peaceful, quiet getaway."
