"Really enjoyed our time at Sherwood the last few nights. We had a 2 bed apartment next to the restaurant. The rooms are a little older, a bit quaint but very cosy. Beautiful view from the back windows across the lake. Stairs were really creaky and loud, not ideal when having to go downstairs to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Parking can get full in the early evening on Friday and Saturday night if there is an event on. Dinner at the Sherwood restaurant was amazing, recommend the Wagyu bavette. They do also have a limited kids menu - flatbreads and pasta. Location was great, in the middle between the airport and town, which was perfect for us as we had a car. "

"Just outside of Queenstown centre where there are plenty of food and dining options. We did have a car and it only took us a couple of minutes to drive there so it would be about 10-15 min walk to the centre. Apartment was clean and modern and the bed was comfortable. We really liked the gas fire place. "

"Would highly recommend. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. The views were amazing. All the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable and a 5 minute walk to all the downtown lakefront shops and restaurants."

"Had a super lovely stay at this hotel. The beds were comfy, the room was modern and had lovely views from outside the property. However I will say “mountain views room” is a little deceiving as the windows in the room were small and had a beam covering them which made it a little difficult to really see out of them. But other than that we had a great stay and it was relatively affordable. "

"Food have enough options for after a long sport day. Supermarket and pharmacy also in the walk distance. Even if you want, you can go to airport by 15-20mins walk. Very convenient."

"Once again this is my third stay here and it’s all about location and view. This time got the suite with balcony and that’s a game changer, taking in the amazing view through a window is nice but sitting outside taking in the cool clean air is worth the extra money. I still believe the whole place is in need of some serious updating but is very clean and staff amazing. Food options still not great. But would be happy to stay here again "

"We stayed here 16 years ago and it seems the furniture and fixtures & fittings were the same. Our L shape sofa had a stain. Couldn’t work out how to use the gas heater as it kept turning off. Comfortable stay and unbeatable lake side view. Dishwasher, washing machine and dryer were very useful. "

"From the moment we arrived at QT Queenstown, we felt genuinely welcomed. We happened to check in on a Friday when the hotel was offering their complimentary afternoon activity, a relaxing 15-minute shoulder massage, which was the perfect way to unwind after our flight. When we walked into our room, we were greeted with a bottle of wine waiting for us, and later received an additional bottle of champagne to help celebrate a birthday we were marking during our stay, such a thoughtful touch! The room itself was exactly as pictured stylish, spacious, and beautifully designed. The real highlight came when we stepped out onto the balcony: the panoramic views of Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown were absolutely breathtaking. A special tip to anyone staying: if you can, wake up early to catch the sunrise from the balcony, it’s truly worth it! The bathroom was huge, featuring both a spacious shower and a luxurious soaking tub, along with high-quality Kevin Murphy products, which added an extra touch of indulgence. Throughout our stay, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to offer great local recommendations. The hotel also offers a free shuttle bus for guests, which was super convenient for getting around Queenstown and to/from the airport, just make sure to book in advance to secure your spot.
