"The place is a large farmhouse, 1000 years ago it was used by farming monks. 15 minutes from Barcelonette and everything the Ubaye valley and the Mercantour have to offer (We're hikers, but folks come here to bike or drive their Porsches on mountain roads too). Diane and Frederic are wonderful and attentive hosts and the home made breakfast will definitely make you come for more."

"Room is nicely decorated and clean. well priced. Internet is fast which is very very rare in French hotels so I really appreciated that.
The food is not great , the staff English is limited. cleaning crew refused to hand wash my clothes - said they were busy though they said they do laundry (even though I said I would pay) . They also didn’t change my towel twice though I put it on the floor like indicated in the signs . Also funny garbage smells in the garden and in the corridor "

Besides the fact that the whole Montclar area won our hearts as we cycled through it, we have to commend the friendliness of the owners, the top-grade food served for dinner, and the delightful chalet-style setting. Ilse & Peter immediately made us feel at home and the fact that I could speak in my very foreign Afrikaans language, and they understood me, made it even more special!
