"This hotel is advertised as a beach front hotel, this is totally incorrect, and I have contacted Hotels.com to complain. All you can see are other properties and vegetation, absolutely no sign of a beach front!!!"
"I really liked this hotel for its uniqueness, location, stunning views, and great staff. You have to keep in mind that the building is very old, from something like the 1600’s , and there are nuisances to any old building versus a new structure.
There are areas that could use some upgrades, simple things like pillows but that being said, the benefits of this gem are worth it."
"Convenient location, short distance from train station. Shops and restaurants all around. Beach is a short walk too.
More importantly, very friendly owner and staff."
"The staff was wonderful! The breakfast highly recommend. They were very attentive and service was great. View from room was spectacular can see people surfing the waves. Very quaint hotel but decorated tastefully and room was very big. "
"Super clean and really cozy atmosphere! There was a BBQ thrown the first night of my trip too and the crowd it welcomes is a lot of solo travelers who were also kind. Really appreciated the space for yoga and stetching. Boards are in good condition along with wetsuits. Only thing is I wished I was aware of the cost of the BBQ/Surfing rates beforehand, but it was no problem because it's well affordable."
"Beautiful hotel in the hills northeast of Bilbao. Easy to find, and as convenient as can be expected to drive in and out of the city for a few days. Unlike many places in Spain, good reliable air conditioning. Note that the “Family” room is just one room, so no privacy for anyone sleeping in either of the two beds. Hotel restaurant was good, not great, but good value."
"The breakfast was excellent. They told us about a fiesta in Mungia that we were able to attend. We needed to drive to dinner but both recommended restaurants were very good and only a short drive. "
"Stayed here during our trip walking the Camino del Norte. Conveniently located just under 2km out of town. Food was great & the staff were very friendly & most helpful. Would definitely recommend "
"Really nice location and lovely people here. It having to worry about parking is a big deal. We would gladly stay here over places in Getaria or San Sebastián "
"Petit hôtel charmant et très propre et moderne. Aucune mauvaise surprise tout était selon ce qui était promis sur le site web. L’appartement était au deuxième étage avec la même vue que la photo de la pub. Utilisé le coffre fort sans frais additionnels Parking intérieur et payant ( tel qu’annoncé). Bon accueil professionnel et très courtois. Belle expérience."
"Really attractive and nicely furnished converted old building. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was just about perfect.
Garai is a lovely village and has two magnificent restaurants within a 10 minute walk, ideal for the tasting menu with accompanying wines.
A little fitness is needed as the walk up to the hotel from the car park is quite strenuous and there are a few flights of stairs if you are in one of the upper rooms. Our room on the top floor only had a skylight so we didn't have a view of the mountains and valley from the room which was a shame but didn't detract from our 4 night stay. Would have no hesitation in returning in the future. A magical area with hotel to match."
"What amazing views, luckily weather was good when we arrived so we were able to sit outside with a drink. Dinner was superb, especially the Ox steak."
"We were looking for a place outside the city, but near the city at the same time at the same time. And this was the place the comfort of staying in the countryside and having the city 30 minutes away this place is for relaxing to make some sports and have a comfy living during your stay."
"Lovely property in a beautiful location around 10 miles outside the city.
The property is run by a really kind and helpful host, who went out of her way to make the trip a success - organising taxis etc. "
"Great no-frills hotel in the heart of Gernika. The rooms are basic but if you get a good price, I would recommend it for somewhere to stay. The pin entry system makes check in simple and the owners were communicative. "
"Great location for a visit to the area. Room clean and shared bathroom really nice. Breakfast basic. Had requested twin room but had double but we made do. Would recommend. "
"Everything about our stay was magnificent. The setting, the view, the food, the exceptional service.
Josu and the hotel team made sure our whole stay was perfect. Thank you. "
"The staff was well above excellent. I am planning on staying there when I return to visit in the fall of 2025. This time with my family in tow. If you want a quiet hotel near all the coastal towns and Gernika, I highly recomeend it."
