"Very quiet location, the silence outside at night is perfect. Good value for the money, either restaurant, drinks, and rooms. Decent breakfast, not fancy, but good German bread, rolls, and boiled eggs.
This place is much bigger than it appears from outside. I look forward to returning soon."

"Nice hotel close to wine pubs/restaurants. Clean and modern with nice buffet breakfast. Very nice staff at breakfast time. Terrible check in experience. Arrived before 3 (the stated check in time) and reception was closed. Waited abs waited. Could not reach hotel by phone or via doorbell until somebody came at 4pm - there was no apology, just a remark that the stated checkin time of 3 pm was not applicable since the boss was not around. Really??? There was no message or door sign to that...

She provided great information and told us we were all set. We arrived by train and were allowed to check in early. The check in process was easy, loads of helpful information was provided. They gave us a beautiful room on the German first floor (2nd floor) with an amazing view of the Rhine River. The room was so spacious and clean. The bathroom was a little small but had everything we needed. Other reviews mentioned the noise but we didn’t notice anything to complain about. We are staying in Germany for another five weeks and my wife is begging me to take her back to the Krone hotel for another three night visit. We highly recommend this hotel for location, breakfasts, cleanliness, friendly staff, wonderful rooms but most importantly the value. "

River boats stop just opposite hotel and great value 'ring ticket' allows open ski lift to top of hill, walk to next ski lift down into Rudenheim, and then boat return for £20."

Disappointing Experience for a Relais & Châteaux Property
While the setting and concept hold promise, our stay fell short of expectations. Upon arrival, the front desk staff were indifferent and unwelcoming—offering no assistance with luggage, which is surprising for a property of this caliber.
Our room was dusty with a clogged shower that should have been addressed before our arrival. Small details like these matter, especially when a hotel presents itself as part of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux network.

Receptionist went out of her way to ensure we were safely parked in the hotel parking lot appropriately 100 meters from hotel, through village. Room was clean and renovated. Breakfast buffet was delicious. Front desk staff extremely friendly and helpful with all of our questions. Provided us with helpful guidance for touring this beautiful area of Germany.
