"This guest house is great. The staff are so helpful. Emmanuel on reception contacted us in advance to give us really useful travel advice. The ferry dropped us straight to the guest house so we didn’t have to carry our bags a long distance. We were in the lagoon room which had an amazing view. Really good value for money. "Worst experience I have ever made with a Hotel. Not sure if the other reviews are bought or not. We had a room with blood stains, the „booked out hotel“ was filled with 1 family, sheets weren’t washed and yellowish and we were asked to smoke crack by a homeless man in front of the Hotel. They charged 140€ for the boat pickup, after all we left after 1 day because of the condition of the room. Even though we got promised a refund we got nothing back but one night. Terrible."

"It might not be as fancy as it's neighbouring Resorts but what it lacks in this makes up in Manager & staff friendly, going out of there way to make it a memorable stay. Can't thank the Manager enough, helping us out on tours, getting into town and also connecting us to the next destination, making it stress free and it's just a chilled resort, yes it's basic but we loved it, great little pool which Son made as much use of it as possible and well the wildlife around the resort was just amazing! Recommend this place highly"
"Pachira Lodge was a great place to stay to explore the Tortuguero area. The lodges were surrounded by the forest with plenty of animal spotting.

"The staff is very nice. Book some tours through their partner agency because they have friendly and knowledgeable guides. A few friendly cats in the area, buy some whiskers from the grocery store and make some friends. Sloths in the tree outside. The beach is a few feet away if that’s your thing as well, very shallow water but a refreshing dip. The jungle park is just down the street, 6km out and back close to the beach with some good wildlife. Friendly locals, probably a bit crowded during busy season, but all good vibes. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants but they all have similar menus, not the greatest cuisine but good enough. "
