"Amazing boutique hotel in a great location near skiing and restaurants. The bed was very comfy, the room was perfect for our family of 4, and the breakfast was delicious - you just pick whatever you want off the cafe menu. "

"Friendly staff, we arrived very late on the first night, they arranged snow mobile to pick us from the carpark and checked us in quickly. The outdoor private hot tub is just what you need after a day of skiing! "

"Located at the base of the ski area, this hotel has excellent and friendly service. Charlie, in particular, was a huge help in navigating getting to and from the hotel via train and taxi (we were after hours). We had the dragon suite, very suitable for families. The free shuttle to the train stations make getting around the region ( Snow Monkeys!) easy—but be mindful of the hours the busses and hotel vans run. I highly recommend the T Hotel at Ryuoo. "

"This place is a great discovery. The hosts offer a warm and gracious hospitality. The jazz music they play in the common area is excellent. I love their displays of art and the maps of the local area. The breakfasts were splendid and the host worked to accommodate the dietary needs of one of our group."

"Staff was helpfull and friendly. Unfortunately the rooms on our level were on "party mode". The staff at the hotel were convenient to help us with the situation, when I called the front desk.
I believe were just unlucky with the other tenants.
Hotel is a bit old school. Breakfast was nice, well organized and cuisine staff were very efficient! Over all, good place to lodge for the ski :) "

"Very friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was average. Small room, bed was pretty comfy. We didn’t use the artificial onsen. Overall it was satisfactory, but nothing special about this place."

"We stayed 1 night. Very lovely staff, the experience was great. The onsen was best we’ve seen and we’ve travelled lots, the history makes the stay awesome. We did 1 night, our dinner was very traditional and same with breakfast. "

"A beautiful and rustic ryokan run by a lovely older couple and their son. The building and it’s location are incredible, just a short walk from Yudanaka Station and Shibu Onsen. "

"Owners are nice people. Seems family-owned, so very traditional and homely. However, facilities are extremely dated, and there were cobwebs everywhere, which made me highly doubt the cleanliness..."

Upon arrival the guest gets a yukata and a key to 9 public thermal springs around the town, where he may bath freely. Note that they are extremely hot. The staff also offers a free ride to the Snow Monkey Park or Yudanaka Station in the morning."
"We had a fantastic stay at Shibu Hotel. The staff were so kind and welcoming. They made us feel so special throughout our stay. The Kaiseki dinner was such an experience. The room was very nice, clean and had nice decor. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Shibu Onsen. "
"Many hot springs around. Need your own transport to get around. Went off season so maybe the dining options were limited.
Good place to unwind though."
"Plenty of parking lot. Very nice female staff member who spoke some English and provided a Yukata for our 6 year old. Large, excellent room with amazing views. Value for money. Green tea provided. Had mostly private onsen experience ie hardly anyone around for both the outdoor and indoor onsen when we visited in early April 2025. Only few minutes drive from Snow monkey carpark. Of the 9 places we stayed in Japan, was our favourite."
