"I booked a room with a window and I was given a basement room that stunk of cigarette smoke and two tiny windows (30cms x 30cms) either side of a bulkhead. The windows let in dust and dirt from the street and also cigarette smoke from people smoking outside. When I mentioned that I had booked a room with a window, I was shown a 2/F room that should have been the one I booked but was told that I had to pay an extra 100 bucks. No thank you!
The aircon worked well and the shower was nice with good pressure and hot water but the room needed a little refurbishment. Definitely not what I expected. The smoke was horrendous. My guess is that it had gotten into everything (bed, covers, cushions, curtains so it's difficult to get rid of the smell unless you rip everything out. "
"Great location next to the Sea Gardens and the Main Street for Bars and Restaurants . Hotel is about a 40 minute walk to the main bus terminal. Staff are friendly and polite. Clean and comfortable rooms with a good breakfast. Cannot fault this hotel after a 2 night stay. "
"the hotel was amazing and I didn’t expect it to be this good. It was an amazing experience, I really liked it and the buffet food was so delicious and the restaurant team the way they worked was very good and the manager or supervisor the woman, a very hard worker I’ve never seen her like that the one that wore black and white stripes and black leggings I’ve never seen a woman work and manage like this before. I liked everything in the hotel and it was very close to golden sands beach just 8-10 minutes walk no more than that. I generally loved the staff all of them they are very nice and the reception and especially one guy his name is valentin he made me love the hotel even more he is next to the reception he is very helpful and when u asks. Question he tries to answer you fully and allow u to understand it shows that he is proud to answer you not like the others there is no one like him im an arab and Muslim and have to be very honest of what I saw and many thinks when I ask straight away he’s there answer and help. He made me more comfortable in this hotel and made me love it. I will definitely come back in the future. "
"The hotel is very nice and in a beautiful area. Carpets and rooms smell a little like cigarettes and it is not well staffed for a hotel of this caliber — ie nobody at front desk, nobody answers phone, take your own luggage, grouchy towel ladies, etc. if you’re okay with that, which I was, this place was great."
"The place is gorgeous and Maggie is the most hospitable host imaginable, she made us feel like we’re family, gave us useful tips, and helped make reservations for us. The location is also ideal. I know where I’m staying next time I’m in Varna. "
"This is the second time we stay at Lighthouse. My husband and I needed a bit of couple time and booked for 5 days. The hotel offers the perfect conditions for couples. Big spacious room with very comfortable bed. Good bathroom. Balcony with a view to the sea and to the golf - the perfect combination of blue and green. The breakfast is included and is outstanding. There are four restaurants on the territory of the estate which can satisfy each taste. The bartenders managed to prepare our favorite latte the way we like it which gives the hotel an extra point.
This year the entire service team is from Bali - kind, humble and smiling people always ready to help.
If you are a massage fan, you should absolutely try the Bali massage.
The spa area is super nice with several types of saunas, steam bath and jacuzzis. The swimming pools are pretty big. The infinity pool outdoors is fantastic for swimming. We were lucky to have less visitors and had moments of swimming alone like in a private pool.
The beach is 10 minutes away with shuttle bus and the water is really clean.
There is parking in front of the hotel and we easily found a spot every time we came back after sightseeing or a restaurant. The area around the hotel is interesting to visit and there are good restaurants 10-20 min away by car. There are couple of gourmet restaurants with amazing views of the sea and the cliffs.
We had wonderful time at Lighthouse Golf & Spa and we will be back next year."
"Lovely location right across from a very nice beach on the Black Sea. Spacious rooms and good service. Wish we could’ve stayed longer but do recommend "
"This is an original property with a retro vibe. It is clear this is family run and Violeta is a pleasant and gracoous host. The best feature of the property is the view of the black sea and being 20 steps from the beach."
"Horrible staff, unhelpful for your prices I was shocked to have zero small bottles in room and to be charged for one coffee pod, using your in room machine which failed to heat water and then having an employee chase me through the parking lot for one Euro after just paying €254 for two rooms for one night. Rooms were sparsely outfitted, tv’s were far too small and channel selection very limited. Overall, a one star rip off. Recommend that the owner try a night in his property to see how bad it is"
"Nice rooms but pools were missing tiles. I had higher expectations of the restaurant for a five star hotel. Some of the local staff members were rude - especially this middle aged male server who almost yelled at me for wanting a drink. He messed up the drink anyway - ordered a Cabernet and he brought me white wine. The bellboy was very kind and helpful but the lady at the reception who checked us in was merely mean. Long wait times for everything. Tiny indoor pool."
"Conveniently located close to the beach. The room was clean, modern and comfortable - balcony was also nice. The amenities are great for a nice summer stay. The breakfast was great with plenty of choices, dinner was also very nice and excellent value. Krassimir at the front desk was very polite and attentive - all personnel were kind and greeted us every time. We will definitely stay here again when back in Varna."
"I’ve been staying at the hotel few times already. Last year I noticed the hotel grounds were not very well maintained but this year the hotel was visibly getting old, poorly kept and outdated. The grounds were dirty, the swimming pools were not clean, the gym is unsafe for children and people just let them play inside unsupervised. The hotel hallways were dirty and smell bad and you could smell cigarettes everywhere. The staff is not helpful and try to do very little of their job, at the business check in time they had one staff member and the counter and long waiting line. The 2 elevators were rarely working and so small to fit more than 4 people. Huge disappointment overall "
"A very nice hotel in the center of Varna. There are many dining options nearby and the hotel itself has a restaurant and bar as well. The breakfast buffet is great and provides lot's of different options, both sweet and savoury. The rooms are rather large and fitted with air conditioners. I will definitely visit again."
"Do not stay there. Just before I got in the hotel I was told to buy the reception that I need to go to different hotel because there was something wrong with our room. No one warned me of that before our arrival. We we booked for two nights and we were told to go just for one night in this other place until they fix the room and next day to come back to the hotel. Extremely unprofessional. I demanded that they find a room for two nights so I don't have to pack twice as we were with two kids. They refused to do that. We demanded then to have our money back. The owner wanted to charge me the booking fee and wanted to return only the money he received. We got our money back and we're left on the street in the middle of the season with no available rooms anywhere to look for place to stay. This type of places need to be closed. "
