"The hotel was very well located. We were in walking distance of Fisherman's Wharf and Chinatown and could get the cable car back to the hotel if we didn't want to walk back up the hill.

"Our stay was only for one night. If you aren't looking for big frills and such, its a very safe and comfortalble alternative. It's relatively close to "all the action" in San Francisco without being loud or massive. Accomodations are more modest but in a place with so much to do and see where one is unlikely to be hanging around all day in their room, that makes it quite ideal.
If you're looking for pampering and all sort of services, Star Motel isn't for you. If you're looking to visit San Francisco and have a clean, affordable, safe lodging option that is conveniently located near so much great stuff in the city (as we were), then Star Motel is fantastic. Also, the "retro" theme was kind of fun. "

"The parking garage is right across the street. 24 hour parking for $43 great price for the city. The hotel is so cute and beautiful. It’s in a great area. Walking distance to a lot of things and restaurants. The room is very nice, the bed is soo comfortable, and I really appreciated that the shower had great pressure and hot water. "The service was excellent. The receptionist, the person who helped us with our luggage. We loved that there was someone who helped us plan our trips during our stay. It was free; it was perfect. The coffee and rewards to spend at the hotel were great. One day our shower flooded, and they immediately went to fix it. Comfortable beds, good location.
I didn't like seeing homeless people on every corner. This isn't something the hotel can control, but it unfortunately affects the experience."
