"Staff was excellent, very helpful! Cottage was a bit weird with all the beds in one room. Saw more wildlife here than in previous weeks touring Costa Rica! Restaurant was actually good."

"Simply wonderful!! Great location, beautiful scenery with lots of toucans and other birds on the property. The villas are brand new, very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and varied. Nilla and Stéphane were extremely attentive and friendly and had great recommendations for activities in the Bijuagua region. A real gem."

"Villa el Tucan is a gem with impeccable service! Bijagua is a cute little village close to Rio Celeste with this new adorable lodge. The owners thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and memorable. The cabins are cozy, clean, airy, and they even have screens on their windows and sliding glass door. Great lil porch to relax and enjoy the view.
They even added a short walking trail to a refreshing river!
They have thought of everything! "

"Very nice stay in the nature. Host are very kind. Breakfast is good enjoying a beautiful view on the forest with Tucans and other birds. Tucan villa is close to the road (not a main one) so can be a bit noisy in the evening. But we enjoyed our stay!"

"We loved the view, the owner, and the general setup. However, the A/C didn’t work, which made us open the windows and doors more, which meant there were bugs everywhere. There was also a trick to getting hot water in the shower, which required sacrificing water pressure. We also struggled to get the front door the close and the owner had to show us a trick. Our stay was also majorly impacted by rowdy neighbors and extremely thin walls. My kids thought I had friends in our suite because it was so...

"I stayed here for an overnight stop between La Fortuna and Monteverde, the hotel was better than I was expecting. Everything was great, a/c provided, was clean and comfortable and no issues at all. Would definitely stay here again if I were passing through. Tilarán is quite a sleepy little town, not a great deal going on there"

"This place is magical. The people are welcoming and kind. Service is great and the view of our room was astonish. What a great family time we had. Thank you for making my husband birthday so special. Hopefully we will go back in the future. "
"El Tigre is a beautiful place to stay. The service from Andrea, Randy and team was amazing…even though the location is remote, we had everything we needed thanks to their exemplary customer service. The hike to the waterfalls was incredible and we loved the villa. Great blend of activity and relaxation. Just a perfect long weekend in the Bamboo House with our daughter!"
"An outstanding hotel
Staff were so friendly and helpful
Room was stylish, large, lived the outdoor shower
2 restaurants food was excellent in both and wines very good
Breakfast was best in Costa Rica - buffet style - lots of choice and delicious
Bar area was fun for a pre dinner cocktail and a fun games room
Pool area was lovely and tranquil with a great hot whirl pool for relaxing in after morning activities
The free afternoon yogo with Jeremy was fantastic and so nice after a day tubing
The trail walks were great for bird spotting and we had a nice swim in the Rio Celeste at the bottom
Definetely recommend this hotel "
"We stayed at this lovely B&B for two nights and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The place was spotless - the bedroom, bathroom, and balcony were all exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The balcony offered a stunning view of Lake Arenal, which made for a peaceful and relaxing stay.
The two hosts were fantastic - warm, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. They made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. Breakfast each morning was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, a perfect start to the day.
Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. We would definitely stay here again!"
