"Friendly attentive staff, top notch bartender and drinks, beautiful breakfast, excellent amenities and Massage. My one concern is the quality of the bed. The springs were felt through the mattress, and I had a very uncomfortable four night sleep with the strings sticking into my back."
"Great hotel. Rooms very clean and comfortable beds. Very nice grounds with indoor and outdoor public areas to enjoy your stay. Great location for quiet and relaxing vacation. "
"Wonderful hotel! Very family friendly with a great pool and play area for families with kids. The breakfast buffet is lovely with lots of delicious options. The staff is outstanding. Very helpful and kind. Beautiful old building with lots of charm and history. I highly recommend. "
"We like the location of the property in the old town. It was centrally located and within easy walking distance to many restaurants and sights. It is a nice walk to the old castle. It is also conveniently located so you can walk into the newer parts of town to shop and eat as well. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was well appointed and nicely laid out with excellent service. Eggs are freshly cooked to your preference.
The wooden shutters on the room balcony and window were very nice. Hotel parking is at site located a short walk from the hotel and google maps directions to the hotel direct you up a one-way street.
The only negative is that there was an issue with the shower pan separating form the wall in one corner which caused some moisture damage to show on the shower wall. "
"This is an amazing hotel in an old monastery. We loved wandering around the old parts of the building including the chapel and cloister. The pool is a relaxing place to hang out and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The dining hall is beautiful and the food excellent."
"It was right in the city which is great. Parking was slightly expensive however staff are great.
Level og service was exceptional and overall made for a smooth experience "
"I loved my stay here. The views are breathtaking and the place itself is stunning! Every employee would go above and beyond to make our stay pleasurable. "
"We just started here and were completely blown away. What we expected to be a comfortable base for exploring the region turned into one of the most memorable stays we’ve ever had. The food, first and foremost, deserves serious praise — easily among the best meals we’ve eaten anywhere. Every dish was thoughtful, fresh, and beautifully executed. The chef is incredibly talented, and the level of quality was simply unexpected for a hotel of this size. It felt more like dining at a Michelin-starred retreat than a small hotel.
Beyond the food, the design of the hotel itself was stunning. The architecture blends modern elegance with regional character, and the lighting in the hotel is amazing. You can tell Keren is an interior designer.
What really set this place apart, though, were the hosts. They were incredibly gracious and generous with their time, offering genuine hospitality and sharing the story of how they built the hotel. As we’re considering a move to Portugal ourselves, their insight into the process — the challenges, the rewards, and the local culture — was incredibly helpful and deeply appreciated. Ziv was always ready with great suggestions and recommendations for the area
This is more than just a place to stay. It’s an experience. We left feeling inspired, well-fed, and extremely grateful. We can’t recommend it enough."
"Amazing hotel, we will be booking to go back again. The staff were amazing, the hotel comes with a host who offers a personal experience and can’t do enough to ensure your stay is perfect. Each morning we were served breakfast by Manwel who offered an outstanding service. He went above and beyond and nothing we asked for was too much. Every member of staff we came into contact with from cleaners to receptionists were amazing. The facilities where first class and the size of the hotel offered an intimate romantic holiday ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️would highly recommend. "
"My husband and I had an wonderful stay in this lovely hotel. We truly felt like family as the owners Anna and Antonio plus their amazing staff Yvonne, Nuno and Emilia were all very warm and beautiful people. They showed us great hospitality. We hope to stay again! The hotel was very clean, safe and walking distance to many restaurants and cafe. Thank you so much for a memorable stay! Muito obrigado! "
