"This is a very local non touristy village. We enjoyed the hospitality (even if we couldn’t communicate) The owner helped accomadate my sea food allergy. We really liked the hot bath available in the beautiful water. The only thing I would say is that it isn’t close to anything and you have to walk about 22 minutes to the train "

A five minute walk to gorgeous waterfalls and forest temple. And right on the trail to the Mt. Yoro hike. Spectacular. We cannot wait to come back. "

"If you've stayed in one Tokoyo Inn, you've pretty much stayed in them all. This one hasn't seen some of the upgrades that busier locations have, but it's very clean and practically inside the train station."

"Overall it is really an excellent hotel. Many of the rooms should be updated, but still they are adequate and spacious. The breakfast area can be busy, but there is a large adjacent room with plenty of space. The hotel staff were great. The onsen has a spacious indoor bath and plenty of washing areas. The outdoor bath is very pleasant, just be careful walking on the stone surfaces. The staff takes good care of the onsen and sauna. The location is good. You can walk to Nagahama JR station and the old town area is just beyond. The lake and the large beautiful next door park and castle is good for walking. There are not many restaurants open at night in central Nagahama, but you can probably find something."

"Very nice view of the lake. Very helpful staff. The rooms have a private onsen hot tub on the balcony. The rooms have tatami and are set up to sleep on the floor. You can request a bed frame to elevate the futon, but it's better to request a bed when making the reservation (although you may enjoy sleeping on a futon, Japanese style)."

"This place was cool, and had an emphasis on Americanism, with President roooms including a JFK room. It was really nice to experience! We noticed lot of school kids stayed in the hotel, probably for the American historical context, or that it was just right by one of the main train stops. Either way, the people in this area are all so nice and friendly, way more thab the big city of Tokyo. Genuinely enjoyed our stay around this place, and there's a ton of food options nearby, including a giant mall. The room we stayed in was pretty big, and the hotel staff are very helpful! Definitely reccomend staying here to explore the area, and to go visit Otsu and Koka Ninja House which isnt far from this hotel."

"Comfort hotel is always the best no frill hotel available to when visit Japan. It doesn’t have a lot of bell and whistle like other hotel, but it always have reasonable size room and hearty and healthy breakfast to keep you going when travelling around Japan."

"The hotel's reception area is situated on the fourth floor, and parking is available in a separate building, which may be inconvenient for guests with a significant amount of luggage. Despite this, the hotel is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, offering amenities such as a coin-operated laundry, ice machine, and complimentary coffee."

"Really nice area, 20 minute walk to the train station. There’s also a Gigo nearby if you wanna play games or crane machine. I would stay here again :)"

"If you are looking for a remote lake get away in northern Otsu this is ideal. This location suits the out door adventure types who want to be away from Otsu city. The lake was an amazing place to swim. What also would be a Great Lake side party atmosphere and relaxation with a group of friends. Amazing cleanliness despite the overall facility being quite old. However rooms and common room air conditioned which was a life saver in the hight of a Japanese summer. The Hostel is not located near any shops and not close to the train station so be prepared to do some serious walking or better rent a bike whilst you are there."
