"Our family of 3 had a wonderful 2 nights stay here. We book a Japanese room with private onsen and it was fantastic! Futon was really comfortable too with bean pillows that provided good head support. All the staffs were friendly and welcoming, especially with my 21 months old daughter. Breakfast and dinner was one of the best we have had among all the Ryokans we have stayed in Japan so far. The food quality was excellent and of superior quality, you can see the Chef's effort and sincerity when preparing each dish. We love that we had our own dedicated little private room to dine in throughout our stay. Thank you to our host that took care of us, from preparing the futon, tidying the room and serving our meals. We highly recommend staying here to whoever that is considering this place."
"Great accessibility, steps from Fukui station. The free breakfast had a remarkable selection and is great to have, given that there are limited options open early in the morning. The room was very spacious and clean. Drugstore 10 minutes walk away for essentials and f some foods if needed. Several conveniences stores that are even closer (but more expensive). Many restaurants in walking distance as well as a department store. Solid choice!"
"Lovely getaway for an authentic Japanese Onsen bathing experience. The suite room was gorgeous and came with a private bath which was very worth it for me ! Many delicious local restaurant options nearby too. Staff knew enough English to get us settled. Highly recommend for 1-2 nights as part of your trip. "
"Friendly staff. We received a free gift of wooden chopsticks. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Walkable area, right by the river and near the large park."
"Ryokan’s kaiseki dinner was finely executed and delicious. Ryokan has a “lion “ dance show in evening for guests, a bonus.
Room size was smaller than we expected but adequate. Location was okay as apart from some stores around the square, there was nothing else around the area.
"
"It was a lovely hotel. The village was so enjoyable and walkable. We loved the onsen!! Public onsen in the hotel so it was a little busy in the am but very quiet in the evening. "
"Staff was kind. Plenty of self-service facility including vending machine, microwave oven, etc. Room is quiet even the hotel building is beside railroad tracks. Only problems are very limited parking space and early-closing restaurant."
"Has the best breakfast but over the yrs it's now ltd.great location, free coffee from check in to check out time , the hotel is going down in repairs and condition.for the price Toyoko is cleaner .smoke is a major irritant
It needs a new carpet and housekeeping shud look at the dust beneath beds and the main bath drain is disgusting. But old timers and service is 5stars "
"The room was fairly large for Japan, and comfortable, I was on the top floor, non smoking comfort floor. And the breakfast was good. Staff was super. My only complaint is that because some floors were smoking, sometimes the lobby area smelled enough like cigarettes to give me a headache.
Location is good for new Shinkansen station. Sidewalks ok."
"This hotel room was comparable to a Western hotel room, in that it was spacious, with a larger tub, but fewer free amenities provided. Very powerful air conditioner was a nice break from the heat."
"This was my first hotel in Japan. Great value for the quality of the stay. The location has plenty to offer in a walkable distance, including close proximity to the Shinkansen (bullet train). I staid here to be able to visit Daihonzan Eiheiji. The bus to Eiheiji temple is at the transportation center where the Shinkansen and other trains depart. "
