Middle of the 15th century the church was rebuilt for the first time by the builder Hansen. Today the church is a basilica, with free-standing bell tower and Romanesque ground plan. The architectural proportions are Gothic. In the interior fuse the styles of the Rococo, Gothic and Romance. It is one of the most beautiful churches in Germany and a jewel of the allgaeur Pfaffenwinkel.
